So .25 inch above and roughly .25 inch on either side and 1 inch behind. I’d also suggest pulling it out every six months or so and vacuuming the ventilation louvres.

It’s nearly identical to the Thermador and the Miele for a lot less money. I believe Thermador (BSH) allows you to view their schematics for replacement parts.

It might be easier for you to try and hunt down an open box Thermador or a display with a deep discount from a local dealer. With Thermador introducing 42 and 48 inch French doors, some of their dealers are probably wanting to swap out their column displays. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@theappliancereview I just really dislike the SS interior on the Thermador, Miele, and Gaggenau units, 😆 but savings is savings I guess...I never considered looking for open box units...hmm Would the warranty be the same for open box or display units?

@@triaxe-mmb Typically the open box pieces do come with a full warranty but it might depend on the age of the unit. Just make sure you confirm via email with your sales rep that whatever open box item it is you end buying will come with a full warranty (so that you have it in writing). Most of the nicer appliances that I own were all discontinued/open box items. 😉

Glad I could help! I also like the new SMD2479JS. I believe it’s similar to the 2089 but all stainless.

There’s nothing I’m aware of that Miele offers but you could probably have one fabricated pretty easily though. Most custom metal fabricators will give you 3/4 by 30 inch piece of stainless for very little (in some cases no cost if they can pull it from a piece of scrap). Then just screw a 3/4 piece of plywood behind the range and epoxy the stainless to it. You could make it look nicer by having the fabricator make the stainless “U” shaped so that it can wrap it around the end of your plywood and potentially giving it a more finished look.

@@theappliancereview We also got Zeolite way before the US. On the other hand, the MyWay 3rd rack was introduced here like a year after its debut in the US and that swirling spray are is only available under the Gaggenau brand as of now.

GE pushed a wireless update to their wall ovens that added an air fry feature but nothing on these as of yet. It does convection bake up to 450 degrees so I’m assuming air frying is possible though.

According to Miele they don’t offer a conversion.

Have you tried contacting Miele parts to buy the burner orifices from the LP version? They don’t have a kit to support the conversion but I bet you could buy them individually.

I’m saying that “steady” is a relative term when baking with various fuel types. Electric ovens just keep a more consistent temperature than all gas ovens. All gas ovens are probably way more consistent than the oven in an old wood burning stove. 😁

According to my father, his grandmother would bake pies in her wood burning stove that looked like they were painted by Norman Rockwell.

Glad it was helpful! I’ve had their displays lock up a few times here and there. I recently went to the trouble of connecting them to WiFi and downloaded the latest firmware. So far no issues!

Yikes. What was wrong with it and why did it take so long for parts to come from PA?

@@theappliancereview Technician was on the phone with the engineers at BlueStar, they diagnosed one part, waited weeks for the part, didn’t fix it, they did that three times to no avail. Another engineer joined the problem and he thought we needed a new part. The problem was, very shortly after the oven came on the thermostat would shut it off. It would take over an hour to reach 300 degrees. Turns out the thermocouple is too close to the gas flame. They sent a shield for the thermocouple and it fixed it. Now, it appears to me the igniter is inop. Call for service, wait a week for them. They diagnose and order parts, wait another week for parts. Ugh. When we redid the kitchen we moved the 40 year old GE double ovens to the basement. Thankfully we did. They have been flawless for 40 years and saved many dinner parties. And I’m getting lots of “steps” in! Ha!

This the older CVA6805. It was recently replaced with the CVA7805.

They both make great Coffee. They both have a plumbed option however the Thermador version will require a drain. I really liked the Thermador but ours had a massive failure and their service tech couldn’t repair it. Before contacting their service department I tried locating the faulty drain sensor through their parts diagrams. It looked way too complicated which is why I ended up contacting their service. The BSH service tech was extremely knowledgeable but didn’t seem to have a lot of experience with this coffee system. Based on the complexity of the design I wouldn’t buy one and consequently have been reluctant to recommend them.

Overall…a nicer user interface, an upgraded milk frothing system with a larger hopper (or hoppers) and a larger water reservoir that can be plumbed. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@vivekjain2722 I have a CM7750 at home. I think it actually retails for more than the CVA7845. To answer your question, neither of them make better coffee than a CM5 or a CM6. If you have some extra dough laying around (and you’re remodeling your kitchen) I’d recommend considering a built in. But if you’re looking to save some money, you should definitely consider a CM5 or CM6.

That’s thing…even if there was some sort of CRAZY 🤪 spill, I’d argue the BlueStar is actually easier to clean afterwards.

We’re a little reluctant to bring in and actively support a first generation product like the BlueStar Dual Fuel Range. That being said, I’d love to get my hands on one. I really dig the styling and the overall potential for this series. I tend to give newer products like these about 18 to 24 months before I start recommending them to clients.
